She walked into my cubicle and asked to close a joint account with her late husband. “He handled all the finances. He was a great man” she said.
She met him when she was 15 and knew right away that he was the one. They got married two years later and took good care of one another for the next 60 years. “He was the greatest man” she repeated. He fulfilled all his promises to her and more. He worked hard throughout his life and left this world with barely any under his name. She said he use it all to help others in need. He was happy. Her tears started streaming down her eyes and “the greatest man he was” she said.
She walked away with an account under her name alone.
